Paul Mayo sent us these great images taken using his Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer mount and a Canon DSLR. Make sure you check out Paul and Sylvia's page for more great astro pics!Heading for the outback with our new Skywatcher Star Adventurer tracking mount couldn't help but to try it out last night before we get really outback. These are the first two photos from last night, with amazing results! A single 2 minute exposure and the next a single 3 minute exposure . Really impressed with the Star Adventurer tracking mount and looking forward to more astrophotography as we head to darker skies. Both images with Canon 6D at ISO6400 75mm f/4 lens, no dark or calibration frames! ... See MoreSee Less
This is for members of our Sky-Watcher family in Melbourne - did you know there's a partial Solar eclipse visible there this Fri the 13th July?
A partial eclipse is where the Moon is between the Sun and the Earth and covers part of the disk of the Sun. The "far side" of the Moon is facing the Sun and nighttime on the side of the Moon which we can see - although it would be a "Full Earth" if you were standing on its surface!
