This small and inexpensive dongle updates your current Sky-Watcher mount with the new “PC-Direct” features found in latest version of mounts like the Sky-Watcher EQ8-R or those with the new version 5 of the SynScan hand controller.

It allows control of your mount via your PC using a USB cable instead the SynScan hand controller.

Guiding –

  • Open PHD Guiding (Often just called “PHD”)

This popular program allows autoguiding of a mount while taking astronomical photos via a camera.

MacOs and Linux users can access a range of astronomy applications via the INDI Library Open Astronomy Astronomy Instrumentation platform.

It supports both equatorial or “EQ” mounts Sky-Watcher mounts and Alt-Az Sky-Watcher EQ mounts such as the range of Sky-Watcher GOTO Dobsonian telescopes.

Please not you do not require this adaptor if your Sky-Watcher mount already has a USB port or you have a new, Version 5 SynScan hand controller.

Wow @crt_astrophotography 😍

Part 1 of a 2 part mosaic project on IC 2944 the Running Chicken Nebula one of my absolute favorites. I've chosen a starless version for the initial panel but will see how it goes for the final result.

The Clouds of Magellan from @aman_chokshi ❤

Aman says:
From the dark skies of the Southern hemisphere, our two closest galactic neighbours can be seen. The large and small magellanic clouds are surprisingly massive in the sky, and can often be confused with actual clouds ;)

Here, the magellanic clouds can be seen through an intense layer of green airglow.

For the photographers out there, this is a panorama with a 24mm lens, giving you some sense of how gigantic the galaxies are.
