However, this year also presented some significant challenges for our team. We were deeply saddened by the loss of our dear friend and respected judge, Alyn Wallace, whose contributions over the years have been invaluable. Alyn’s passing has left a void in our community, and his presence was sorely missed during the judging process. Despite this emotional time, we remain committed to continuing the competition in his honour, upholding the high standards he cherished.

Additionally, we encountered some unforeseen technical issues, which led to delays in announcing the results. We sincerely appreciate the patience and understanding of our participants and the broader community as we worked through these obstacles.

Even in the face of these challenges, the 2024 edition of the competition has been nothing short of exceptional. This year saw a record number of entries, each one displaying an extraordinary level of creativity, skill, and dedication to the craft of astrophotography. The standard of work submitted continues to amaze us year after year, and 2024 was no exception.
