Another incredible deepscape, this time from @finx___photography and the Star Adventurer 2i

Uroš Fink says:

✨Orion the Hunter✨

This is my first deepscape image taken with telephoto lens.

Photographed on 13.01.2021 in Kunč - an abandoned Kočevarska village in the central part of Kočevski Rog in Slovenia. Personally, it is one of the most beautiful parts of Kočevski Rog. For the foreground, I chose a hunting observatory that stands on a large field in the middle of the forest.

Since Orion first appears in Greek literature as a great hunter in Homer's epic Odyssey, I imagined a hunting observatory for the foreground, mainly because it was in an ideal position for photography with the constellation Orion.

I took a photo of the constellation on the same
place as the foreground, just a few meters away, so I got into the lens just the universe.

Shelbydiamondstar Photography with the Star Adventurer! WOW

Orion "deepscape" over Bond Falls.

This telephoto view really brings Orion closer!! ❤

The jewel of the winter sky! I did have to pano this shot to get the entire field of view. These shots are so tricky, but I just love the telephoto compression effect so much! I have grown to really enjoy the winter skies, despite the extra effort in hiking to locations through snow and the bitter cold.

EXIF -
Nikon Z6 (h-alpha modded) - Nikkor 70-200mm F/2.8FL lens on a SkyWatcher StarAdventuer tracking mount.

Sky (Tracked) - A mosaic of two panels - 3 images each for stacking. ISO 1200, F/2.8, 60-seconds each. Integration and initial processing done in PixInsight.

Ground - A mosaic of two panels - ISO 3200 - F/4 - 45-seconds

The entire pano put together in Photoshop and final edits done there, too. ...

"Dawn of Orion" by Skypointer Photography

Ralf Rohner says:
This deepscape image shows the sword of Orion rising over a scenic mountain formation in central Switzerland. The famous Orion Nebula, the Horsehead and Flame Nebula and part of Barnard's Loop are colouring the sky in a stunning way.
Deepscapes are an attempt to take landscape astrophotography to the next level. This image is not a digital art collage of an unrelated sky and foreground, but a real alignment. A snowshoe hike with a mobile deep sky imaging rig to a carefully planned site on a mountain slope was required to capture this scene. Foreground and sky were captured back to back during the same night and from the same tripod position.

Capturing and processing the image required both deep space and landscape astrophotography techniques. The foreground and RGB color image of the sky were captured with an astro-modified Canon EOS 6D and a 200mm lens. The sky image was enhanced with 55min of H-alpha data captured with a cooled monochrome astrophotography camera through a narrowband filter and the same lens. As I used two different cameras I labeled the image as a composite.
