The rechargeable Nitecore NU25 has a three sources of light – red light low intensity lighting which is perfect for astronomical use, close up  white light for reading and camping as well as high intensity white light for large area illumination.

The NU25 weights less than 30g, making it comforatable to wear for long periods of time.

Red light torches and lamps are an essential tool for astronomers.  The let you handle equipment, read and move safely in the dark, all while keeping your eyes adapted to the dark.  If you’re exposed to normal, white light after your eyes have adapted to the dark it can be 15-30 minutes before you’ll be ready to see faint objects again.
