Jim Mitzas posted a re-worked version of his image of part of the region of Corona Australis (NGC 6729) to the Sky-Watcher Australia Facebook group. This is a reflection nebula, which shines by reflecting light from nearby stars and is one of the closer stellar nurseries to us in the Milky Way. Also visible in the bottom right of this beautiful image is a tight ball of stars, the globular cluster NGC 62723. While this appears in the same frame as the nebula, it's actually much further away.
The entire image was captured with a Sky-Watcher Esprit 100ED APO refrator telescope and a ZWO ASI183MM Pro camera.
Thanks for the share Jim and your comments on processing images in PixInsight.

This week's Sky-Watcher Australia's astro image of the week is from Vijay Ladva.
Vijay imaged Thor's Helmet (NGC 2359), an emission nebula in the constellation Canis Major. An emission nebula shines by emitting light from surrounding gas that's been excited by radiation from nearby stars. That's Helmet is approximately 3,670 parsecs away and 30 light-years in size.
He used a Sky-Watcher Esprit 100ED APO refractory mounted on a Sky-Watcher AZ-EQ6 mount. Total exposure was around 5 hours using a ZWO ASI1600MMC camera.
Thanks for the share Vijay!
