Description

Sky-Watcher 127/1500 AZ5 Maksutov Cassegrain Telescope

The Sky-Watcher 127/1500 Maksutov Cassegrain is a compact and powerful optical design that combines a front meniscus lens and two mirrors. As the optical tube is closed by the meniscus, the mirrors are protected from atmospheric agents such as humidity, dust and pollution that over the years degrade the reflective coating of the mirrors. The tube is compact but the focal length is  long allowing high magnification with the standard eyepieces.  The resolution power gives the ability to distinguish the main planets details such as the rings of Saturn, the band and the moons of Jupiter.

Features:

  • Compact dimensions, ideal for transportation
  • Practical main mirror focusing mechanism
  • Universal accessory adaptation
  • High contrast image without distracting false colour
  • Quick release system for the tube
  • Impressive viewing capabilities for its price range
  • 5 years Sky-Watcher limited warranty

Superb Imaging power
The 127mm aperture provides enough light gathering power to view the most popular celestial bodies and messier catalog objects. It is designed to produce high contrast images with minimal chromatic aberrations. This imaging power comes at a price that is well within the range of most enthusiasts.

Portable and Easy to Set-up
The compact dimensions of this optical tube assembly makes it easy to carry around. It’s designed for easy assembly and dis-assembly with its quick release system. It also allows you to easily perform minor tube adjustments to suit your current environment. Bring it along with you to your favorite viewing locations.

Durable Construction
The lightweight aluminium tube is expertly designed to support the internal optical components and keep images sharply in focus while in use.

Sky-Watcher Australia

Introducing Phil Hart, one of our Sky-Watcher Ambassadors! Night Sky PhotographyGrowing up in Melbourne, Australia, Phil developed a strong interest in astronomy and photography. On a student budget through school and university, he built his own Newtonian telescope which remains one of his more successful DIY projects. As an engineer, he naturally has a strong technical approach to astrophotography and night sky photography but enjoys exploring the artistic side of the hobby as well.Astronomy and his love of mountains and snow has significantly shaped the course of his life; a solar eclipse in Zimbabwe in 2001 became the trigger for five years living in Scotland enjoying the northern skies and an occasional aurora. Since then, aurora and eclipses have led him to capture the 'Great American Eclipse' over the Grand Tetons in Wyoming and a winter in Canada's frozen Yukon Territory among other adventures. The same passion also underlies his move to the dark skies of central Victoria near Talbot with his partner Karen. He has one automated observatory there and is 'agisting' another for ASV colleagues. The ephemeral nature of comets, eclipses and aurora and pushing the boundaries of their photography continues to draw Phil into new adventures, and has resulted in dramatic and widely acclaimed and admired images and videos. Some of Phil's gear includes: Skywatcher EQ8-RH, Skywatcher Evostar 150mm DX, Skywatcher SA 2i. #skywatcheraustralia #skywatcher #astrophotography

It brings the App based control of the Star Adventurer Mini (SAM) to its slightly larger brother. Refer also to my previous reviews of the Star Adventurer and the SAM as both are still highly rel...
