SKYWATCHER AUSTRALIA
Some of you might remember recent images we posted here that were taken by new astronomer, Vicki Pink.
Vicki has only recently started taking astro images and uses a 130mm Sky-Watcher reflector on a Sky-Watcher AZ GTi (Mini AZ) mount.
After only a short time imaging, one of her images were selected to feature in Feb 2019 issue of the BBC Sky at Night magazine.

Heads up for a celestial event!!!
If you're up early in the coming days, the two brightest "stars" in the pre-dawn sky are actually the planets Venus and Jupiter. An alignment like this where objects in the sky appear close to each other is called a conjunction.
(It doesn't mean the objects are physically close to each other. They just appear that way from Earth.)
There's normally one decent Jupiter/Venus conjunction a year. In 2019 we get two, with the second being in November.

Will be a ripper of a Full Moon tonight however.
We see a lot of stunning Milky Way images from members of the Sky-Watcher family using the popular Star Adventurer mount and a DSLR, but here's one of the LMC taken by @danielgangur.photo using a Canon EOS R camera and a Canon 70-200 2.8 lens.
The Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer kit is a one of the easiest ways to get going in astrophotography and a perfect way to capture large areas of the skies. Just add your DSLR, your current lens and some clear skies!
The LMC (Large Magellanic Cloud) in this image is a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way and can be seen on the far southern sky as a patch of faint "cloud". It's home to a vast number of interesting objects including globular clusters and rich star forming regions such as the Tarantula Nebula - which is visible in Daniels image.
